July 2004 - Opening concert of Barbican Mostly Mozart festival

Polyphony was invited to perform the Mozart Requiem for the opening concert of the Barbican's Mostly Mozart festival. Conducted by Louis Langrée with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, the concert was described by the Independent as 'Unmissable Mozart'.

'The performance's outstanding feature was the well-focussed choral singing of the 26 voices of Polyphony, at its most affecting in the closing pages of the ‘Confutatis’ and throughout the ‘Lacrimosa’' - Classical Source

'There was a similar plan to the Requiem, again kept on the move but with enough sensibility to make its words and profundity tell. The two dozen or so voices of the choir Polyphony proved an ideal counterpart to the Classically-scaled orchestra, making a firm sound when needed in such choruses as the 'Rex tremendae' but with the corporate vocal control to bring hush to the start of the 'Lacrimosa'' - Daily Telegraph
