September 2002 - Polyphony nominated for Gramophone Award

The short list for the Gramophone Awards 2002 has been announced and, for the second year running, Polyphony appears in the six CDs nominated for Choral Disc of the Year.

Last year Polyphony's recording of Britten's Sacred and Profane won the award.  We will have to wait until 30 September to discover whether this year's nomination - the recording of the choral works of William Walton - will achieve the same accolade.

The awards, which reveal the best classical recordings released between 1 June 2001 and 31 May 2002 will be announced in front of a packed Barbican Hall.
